Automatic Licence/Number Plate Recognition

Automatic licence/number plate recognition (ALPR/ANPR) is a technology that uses optical character recognition on images to read vehicle number plates. Parking or access control, traffic monitoring and security, toll collection and congestion charging systems, speed and journey time measurement, bus lane and traffic light enforcement and many other systems can benefit from the fast, exact, automatic identification and recognition capabilities of ALPR/ANPR system.

Principles:

ANPR uses optical character recognition (OCR) on images taken by cameras. System reads the vehicles license plate and outputs the license plate number in ASCII - to some data processing system. Our Visiting system LuxDoor is an user interface for vehicle access control or parkong system, which operates in two independent regimes:

Automatic passage of vehicles which licence number is stored in database already (parking houses, passages of residential vehicles). This regime is suitable for control multi-passages of vehicles.

Semi-automatic passage of vehicles which licence number is not stored in database yet but their access is allowed (supply vehices, visiting cars). In this case licence number has to be input to database after arrival of vehicle by system operator. This regime is suitable for one bidirectional passage of vehicles.
